LOVING-IMPRESSIONISTS-400X400

June 1 to June 30

Impressionists were a group of artists in the late 19th century who developed a distinctive style characterized by capturing the fleeting effects of light and color in their paintings. The term "impressionism" originated from Claude Monet's painting titled "Impression, Sunrise," which was exhibited in 1874. Impressionist artists sought to convey the essence of a scene rather than focusing on detailed realism. They often used loose brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and innovative techniques to create a sense of spontaneity and capture the changing atmosphere of a moment. Notable Impressionist painters include Monet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Camille Pissarro.

The LRAA June Gallery Event gives all members an opportunity to bring their "Impressionist" art to the public in an exhibit that will run the entire month of June. All art should be either original or archival prints and all must be framed unless submitted as canvas, metal or acrylic photographic prints. Be sure to review the "Note to Participating Arts" link above.
