ABOUT US

Our Mission

The mission of the Lakes Region Art Association is to enhance the ability of its members to create art and to further the appreciation of art in the Lakes Region area by the promotion, education, sale, and display of the visual fine arts. The Association is a non-profit educational and cultural organization located in the Tanger Outlets, Suite 300 in Tilton, New Hampshire.

History

The Lakes Region Art Association (LRAA), founded in 1940 by five local artists, was originally the Laconia Art Association. The purpose of the Lakes Region Art Association is to provide a supportive and educational forum for local artists, both amateur and professional. Members explore the use of various techniques, mediums and styles. The Association seeks to nurture the creation and appreciation of the visual arts in the Lakes Region and promote exposure of artists’ works to the public.

In the Fall of 2015 the Association was given the opportunity to open a gallery in the Tanger Outlets in Tilton, NH. This has been a new and exciting venture and the Association continue to work towards making this a successful experience for all our members!

The Association continues to keep up with technology, establishing a website a few years ago and a Facebook page for both the Association and its Gallery, all to give the arts a higher profile in the area, to communicate better and to promote member artists.
