Watercolor Artist Byron Carr

Contoocook watercolor artist Byron Carr will be demonstrating at our August Meeting.

 Byron has taught and done demonstrations for 20 years. His exuberant approach and sense of humor help take the fear out of painting with watercolor. He will show you how to slop, splash, splatter, scrub and spray your way to a finished painting.

Byron Carr’s latest methods include painting “en plein air”, by working outside, on location.  The changing light conditions limit the observation time to two hours or less, in order to capture the essence of a scene and its visual impression.  Byron then uses many of these works as reference for larger pieces that he creates in his studio.

Byron is a member of the Lakes Region Art Association and the NH Plein Air Painters. Our August meeting will be held at the Woodside Building at Taylor Community at 7:00 PM, and is open to the public. Check out Byron's website: www.cbgallery.com/byroncarr.htm

Annual Members Show Winners!

Top honors went to Belmont resident BJ Eckardt for her piece “Reach,” winning “Best in Show” and 1st place in the oil painting category. The 24” x 36” painting depicts a skyward view into the branches of an apple tree, filled with fruit ripe for picking. Ms. Eckardt has been an active member of the Association and is honored by the awarded.
